Essential Oils for Wellness and Well Being
I Did Too Much Out There Today
by Cheryl Fritsch-Middleton on June 29th, 2016

I love working in my garden but when I really get going and spend some time out there I often come in to realize just how much I overdid it.  I am hot, tired, sore, and parched.  So I reach for a handful of oils I know along with a hot shower will help me feel better to tackle the rest of my to-do list.  Peppermint, Lemon, Marjoram, Frankincense and immortelle are just a few of my go to oils to get back to being me.
Peppermint essential oil is so cooling.  I actually take a 16 oz spray bottle with 20 drops of this little wonder and topped off with water out in the garden with me.  A mist on the back of my neck helps to cool me off when I am getting hot.  I often spritz my body again right before I step in the shower.
Lemon tastes so good in my water and helps me to get that hydration level back to where it should be.

Marjoram is another post gardening essential oil must for me.  I keep a 10ml roller bottle with 15 drops each of marjoram and frankincense topped off with fractionated coconut oil to rub on my sore muscles.  The frankincense relaxes the muscles while the marjoram soothes tired, stressed muscles.
Frankincense is mixed with my body lotion, 1 drop for a silver dollar size dollop of lotion to help that often dried out skin be rejuvenated.

Finally, I use immortelle on my face especially around my eyes (I am a squinter in the sun regardless of hats and sunglasses) and where I got exposure to the sun.  Immortelle provides a soothing sensation when applied and helps reduce contributing factors to the appearance of aging skin.  We all want to look as young as we can for as long as we can.
When you are using essential oils on your skin it is important to be sure you are using oils safe for topical use.  If you are interested in the essential oils I use please contact me.
