Essential Oils for Wellness and Well Being
My New Favorite Hot Cocoa
by Cheryl Fritsch-Middleton on July 13th, 2015

Yes I live in Florida and yes I love hot cocoa.  On any day that I deem "cold enough" I enjoy a cup.  I hate the powdered stuff in the envelope and opt for making it myself.  I really do not think it takes that much longer to make it from scratch than heating up water and stirring and I get to be in control of what goes in it.
I am never one to leave something alone.  I find a recipe I like and still tinker with it and because of that  have a new favorite cocoa recipe.

2 Tbsp of Coconut oil
4 Tbsp of Unsweetened cocoa
3 Tbsp of sugar (I use raw or coconut sugar)
2 cups of milk
1 drop of Peppermint Essential Oil

Melt the coconut oil in a pot.  Add the cocoa and sugar and stir.  Add the milk a little at a time stirring as you go.  Heat until it starts to bubble, do not let it come to a boil.  If desired add a drop of quality peppermint oil and serve.  Of course you can always add whipped cream, too.
